Tasks: Show / Hide recurring tasks
Hi there,
There should be option to hide/unhide reoccurring tasks. In my case I use reoccurring task as a monthly reminder for payments and I have many. They are spoiling my Upcoming view, were I have some non occurring tasks and its hard to find them among tens of reoccurring (which is actually a reminder). They will pop up anyway when the time comes, so I don't need them listed. Or at least they should be going to reoccurring tab, instead of upcoming.
Second one - Time view is great options, but I don't use it just because It putting all Lists togheter without knowing which task belong to what List. It will be a great option if the tasks from Today, Tomorrow and etc. are sorted by List as a sub category. In my case I have two main list have my company(BGDS) and I have a magazine(Coring). When I turn on my Time view to see my tasks for today and they are all mixed up between BGDS and Coring and I don't know which one belong to what List.
I think second option is fundamental as its a common thing for many programs and users are used by the sorting option.
Other vise great tool. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!

21st of Dec 2023, and the originator of the idea back in 2016, what are you waiting for guys? It's simple one for sure.

It sounds like this could be solved by allowing the user to choose a filter on which lists get included on your "today" or "next x days" views. My recurrence/reminders are all on one list which could easily be excluded from a specific view - if that functionality were to be added

I used to use TodoIst and wunderlist. In TodoIst - you can see tomorrows or future tasks if you want, but by default - they are hidden. Since Wunderlist is shutting down - I am looking at an alternative that will replace both apps.
TodoIst doesn't have different lists... even tasks from different projects are coming into the same list...
any.do seems a good alternative. Just if we can hide future tasks - that would be great. -

I would love the ability to hide tasks that are far into the future and have the appear as the occurrence approaches. This could be customized on a task by task basis. This could be done by creating another category for 'hidden tasks" so that they would not clutter up the other lists. This is especially handy for recurring tasks that clutter up the "upcoming tasks".
Currently I am using two different task apps because of this feature lacking in Any.Do and I would love the ability to have everything in one app.

I guess tags based listing would solve this issue, similar to how Google lists important emails at the top in Inbox by Google and non-priority tags like promotions etc at the back.

I agree. Upcoming tasks will be shown in today/tomorrow panes anyway, why should I see what's going to happen in a month.

Really useful function. I have repeating tasks such as credit payments and I don't need to see it always. Would be good to see it the day before it comes.

I have many tasks but I don't need to see all of them on my list all the time since they are not applicable at the moment. Can I set tasks to be visible, say, only 1 day before due date?

I'm a premium subscriber and I really want this feature in Any.do. This would make a simple yet beautiful application even more elegant by clearing up unnecessary tasks that are not due until a specific date into the far future.

I'd like to be able for tasks to be hidden until a given day. For example I have a repeating task to clean every monday. When i strike it as done, I don't want to see the task again until next monday morning.

I would appreciate this feature as well.

Agreed. The ability to hide tasks that are not due in the near future would be tremendously helpful in organizing lists.

I agree with this. My proposal is a "choose timespan"-option for the upcoming tab. So that you yourself can say how many days planned tasks you want to see as upcoming:

When I put a task on a "repeat annually" status all the years pop up as future upcoming events. This is not a great thing, as I have attempted to delete the event thinking I didn't delete it yet and find I am deleting the following year event. Please change this to hide the reoccurring event for the following month/year that it will be occurring.
