The lack of this feature is the only reason why I switched to HabitNow, they have a much better system for this.
In HabitNow, you can create one of 3:
- task
- recurring task
- habit
A task is a normal task, just like we have in any.do
A recurring task is a normal task that is automatically created for you following a certain pattern (daily, some days per week...). It can have an end date (generate tasks from here to date X), or not
A habit is like a task, but if you don't complete it it gets marked as failed for that day, and it doesn't carry over to the next day
For anything else I still prefer any.do, especially the Android widgets, but the lack of this feature alone is a dealbreaker for me. I can have a single app for habits and daily planning, and that's great
