Tasks: Items without time or date dependency
Not all tasks are time dependent. Unfortunately when adding a task to any other day than today the default is a time (hour) dependent task. This should be corrected so that I decide whether to define a certain time or date.

Why does the app automatically add a reminder to every newly created todo? OK "some" may find this useful but at least give me the option to disable this default addition of due times and reminders, but there isn't an option for this either. I have to delete these automatic reminders from tasks myself. Therefore the app that is supposed to help me have less remaining todos, actually make me have more unnecessary todos! Why does "buy milk" have to have an automatically added time?? This and only this is the whole reason that makes me leave this app. Hope you resolve this in the future

I really do not understand why we should assign time or dates to some task.
For example: TO BUY BANANAS. WHEN - MODAY! Why should I specify exact time?
Another example: TO VISIT MUSEUM. WHEN - JULY! Why should i specify date and time?
TO FINISH MAINTENANCE IN HOUSE: WHEN - 2015!
Can we add some options, as: whole year, whole month, whole day? -

Totally agree. I am also using Cal and all of my "Today" tasks are set to 10:00, which creates a confusion. "All-day" feature should be added to tasks!

Not all of my tasks in Today, Tomorrow, or Upcoming have a time deadline, and it would be great if the requirement for a time could be removed for tasks in those categories.
Also, maybe allow Cal to treat them as all-day tasks, similar to all-day events are. -

Yes! Many of my tasks are day specific but not time specific. Since I also use Cal, I don't like going into Cal and seeing meaningless times (and having tasks organized by those times). It would be nice to see timed tasks/events in Cal first, and tasks that are not time dependent last.

I agree with this. It would be very handy to be able to create a separate type of list that does not have a time dependency. A perfect example is actually one of the native lists "Movies to Watch." I would prefer not to bunch The Big Lebowski into my daily task reminders.

I find that if I go to 'Someday' and touch +, a task is created under Someday without needing to be moved there.

I would like to use your app to keep track of grocery list and such without having to have a due date associated with them.

Just switched to Any.do and was really dismayed to see that there's no way to add tasks easily (1) to a certain list and (2) as "someday." That's the vast majority of my tasks (to-buy items, groceries, etc.) and it requires a ton of cleanup when sitting at the computer later. Which kinda defeats the purpose of having the app.

These are all great ideas - thank you for your feedback!
If you add tasks directly into 'Someday' you will not have to drag them into that folder. If you're already viewing your lists in Date View, you do not need to take any extra steps to add it to 'Someday' directly. Simply press + next to 'Someday' rather than at the top of the screen. -

Doh!: *due, not 'do'. ;P

Automatic due dates create the false impression that I have too many things to do on 'Today', because it takes more time than I have to manage all of them on an ongoing basis.
Reality is, I don't get to everything I list out. So I'm constantly having to shuffle. This takes up my time, and should pivot.
Instead, due dates could be a toggle option. When turned on with a click, those additional tools come into view. Otherwise, the task is simply 'open', and managed accordingly.
In other words, the system should be hybrid: based on tasks, and/or on time, depending on how the user wants to leverage it.
An 'open' task allows me to organize my to-do's laterally, without worrying about when they are do.
For me, due dates only apply to a small number of tasks. The others are there to remind me they exist. If I want to date it, I will. It shouldn't make me.
For me It's more about what category they are in, and how high in a stack they are that signifies their importance.
That said, the Due Date feature is great. But it should be just that, a feature, not the driving force behind keeping my to-do lists organized.
Life is not that linear. That app becomes more about managing blown due dates than my list of to-do's.
ps: I'm really liking the new list layouts, and how they adapt widths depending on how many categories there are. A smart and intuitive update.

I second (third, fourth, and fifth) the idea of letting users choose which time view folder new tasks default to. Most of my tasks aren't date or time dependent when I enter them, but they show up in 'Today'. Dragging them to 'Someday' is wearisome and eventually pushes me away from any.do again.

Yes this! Also when we are forced to add time why we dont have task in date view in time order? This is very strange and looks like this app is not finished. Maybe i rushed buying premium for year :(

Maybe allow to choose to have new tasks default to Someday, where they become a master list of tasks that can be dragged to Today, Tomorrow, etc.

Most of tasks I create with Any.do are with no Deadline. In order to create such task, I have to be in "Time view", select the category "Someday" and open the task there. But if I am in the "List view" pane, where I see the different folders I have, and I want to create a task with no deadline, I can not! When you create any task in that pane it always has a deadline by default!
I have to create the taks in "Time view", and then switch to "List view" to move it to the folder I want to. It's Cumbersome!
You should be able to create tasks with no deadline directly in List view.
