Tasks: Items without time or date dependency
Not all tasks are time dependent. Unfortunately when adding a task to any other day than today the default is a time (hour) dependent task. This should be corrected so that I decide whether to define a certain time or date.

Adding a task should be a simple one-step process: add a task to a list of your choice, add a due date to it or keep it in a Master List (Someday) until it's ready to be scheduled. Any.do forces me to do this in several steps, not just one. Other apps don't. I check back every so often to see if this has changed, but it's been years.

This would really help making Cal more useful to. So Cal won't show task with a time, but simply at the bottom of the list as to-do's.

I agree

I would give this a million votes if i could.
This app is so good that I use it for other things. Some of the things I add do not have a due date.

I think for each task you should not have to assign it a date or time.

Often I need to accomplish something sometime today, not at a specific time.

I'd love to be able to make a simple list without assigning days/deadlines to each task. It would also be great to make my own categories (ex: I shop at multiple grocery stores; I'd love to make a grocery list but break it down by store -have the categories be the stores instead of "today," "tomorrow," etc.

Is something being done with this suggestion?
Most of my tasks and groceries aren't time dependent, but I would like to be able to choose a date... -

I totally agree. Though it may not be part of the developers' philosophy behind the app, this hybrid feature could definitely be added without ruining the way the app works now. I always need to reprioritise, and would rather not have all of my upcoming task migrate to my tomorrow/today list, only to have to be drug back to where I had them before.
I understand there is a someday list that I could perhaps drag my upcoming tasks into, but I don't think of the two lists the same. Someday tasks are tasks that I can realistically not look at for 6 months. These are sort of bucket-list type things. The upcoming lists, for me, should also be static, but needs to be viewed a little more often than someday tasks. In fact, I may glance at them every day. From time to time, I may need to decide that it needs to be drug into tomorrow or today - but I want to decide when. I certainly can't put a date on these 3 days to 6 weeks ahead.
Maybe I'll go in and try to set the date on my upcoming tasks for 2020. Wish me luck!

I see any.do suggested just putting grocery list (not day specific items) to "someday".... I don't like this. I want the option to NOT have to choose a time to complete option. Please!

I would like to not have to select when I'm going "to do" an item. I would like to have the option to make a list, like shopping or Christmas list, without "today, tomorrow, someday"...etc My shopping list just grows until I go to the store.

This way, when we get notifications about how many things we have to do, buying carrots wouldn’t count as an individual task.

This would be exactly what I woild also appreciate! Assign a task for next week tuesday without a time definition.

The automatic "today" setting needs to end. It would be great if task defaults could be adjusted to personal preference. Having to drag down each task individually or create them in the "all" folder under "someday" is frustrating. The layout is built to be seamless, but this makes it high maintenance.

I'd like to be able to set my default folder type to "Someday" instead of "Today" for lists like "Grocery List" and "Books to Read". These lists, for the most part, are simply lists of items, not tasks with due dates. It makes the most sense to always have them in "List view", and logically, every new item would be added to "Someday".

I do not use date view, I use list view. So it is very uncomfortable to switch every time to put new task in "someday".

I like to have a list of tasks for a day, but I do not want to set a time during the day for the task

For example: 'Shopping List' is a rolling list for me, I'm continually adding things with the view that whenever I next go to the shops I'll pick them up. However because they get attached to a due date they end up in my daily feed alongside time critical work and personal tasks. I'd love the ability to have lists where you can disable the date function

There are some folder such as places to visit that don't require a daily reminder. Is there a way to make a folder default just a list a not a reminder list and other folders i.e. personal errands making daily reminders?
